Clubs

Online clubs offer students a valuable way to connect, collaborate, and engage in shared interests beyond the virtual classroom. These clubs help build a sense of community, develop leadership and teamwork skills, and allow students to explore passions that can support their future goals. Whether it’s preparing for college, diving into a hobby, or just meeting new people, online clubs create meaningful experiences that support personal growth and social connection.
Current MVA clubs include:
- Anime Club
- Art Club
- Astronomy Club
- Chess Club
- Creative Writing Club
- Crochet Club
- Harry Potter Club
- Monarch Bakery Club
- Photography Club
The National Honor Society chapter of Manhattan Virtual Academy is a duly chartered and affiliated chapter of the National Honor Society.

Membership is open to students who meet the required standards in four areas of evaluation: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Students are selected for membership by majority vote of a 5-member Faculty Council, appointed annually by the principal, which bestows this honor upon qualified students on behalf of the faculty of MVA each year. The chapter adviser, Lori Rice, is also appointed by the principal and facilitates all selection procedures and chapter activities during the year.

Social Outings
At Manhattan Virtual Academy, we believe meaningful connections are an important part of the school experience. Throughout the school year, MVA students, families, and staff have opportunities to come together for social outings, educational experiences, service projects, and community events across Kansas. From museum visits and STEM workshops to college tours, rodeos, parades, and seasonal activities, these outings help students build friendships, explore new interests, and create lasting memories beyond the virtual classroom. We typically host outings about once a month, giving students opportunities to connect in person while still enjoying the flexibility of virtual learning.
