Lydia Huninghake

MVA SPED Teacher

"Hello! My name is Lydia Huninghake (he-knee-hawk) and this year will start my 14th year of teaching with USD 383. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education through Kansas State University while graduating with my Master’s degree in Adaptive Special Education K-12 through Emporia State University.

My experience working in the Special Education world has taught me how to build relationships with students and teachers so we can work together to achieve emotional and academic goals. Virtual teaching has been an exciting learning curve that has broadened my technology skills and I want to continue to learn how to be even more effective in the virtual setting.

My family and I have recently moved to Frankfort, Kansas to be closer to our family farm. Bryce, my husband, is a local farmer and we share three wonderful children together, Retley, Ellie and Perry. In our spare time, you can find us enjoying the outdoors, being on the farm, spending time with our families and attending K-State football games in the fall."
