Manhattan Virtual Academy is an entirely web-based application that only interacts with a browser. Any Operating System (OS) that can use the supported browsers is acceptable.

 Manhattan Virtual Academy will require a minimum of:

• Screen resolution 1024 x 768 or greater recommended 
• Printer and means to digitally submit a file or ability to digitally edit PDF files
• Internet Connection: High Speed (Broadband) 
• Audio: Speakers and Microphone

Supported Devices

1. Laptop/Desktop computers

• 7″ or larger display size
• Access to WiFi with a high speed internet connection (4G or LTE connections are supported, but you may incur costs based on your mobile data plan)
• Method to save work to local or cloud storage
• Minimum Operating System: iOS 6 or greater, Android 2.2 (Froyo) or greater

**Lightweight devices such as Apple iPads, Google Chromebooks, and tablets have limited support for Java and Flash and are NOT recommended

Required Software

• Word Processing software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• Microsoft Office 365 (Included as part of your enrollment)
• Free options: Open Office and Google Docs
• Audacity or Vocaroo (a small set of  courses require students record their voice and submit audio files to their teacher)

Plug-ins: The following plugins and settings may be required to use in your courses.

• JavaScript enabled
• Cookies enabled
• Java installed
