MVA received the 2016 Kansas Schools of Character Recognition this spring. Among the 29 recipients, we were the only virtual school to be recognized. This award is a reflection of how vital character development is to our program and our commitment in educating and nurturing the whole child.

In the  MyIntent Project developed by Chris Pan, we see a great way to connect and expand the vision of our character development program. Asking “What’s your word?" provides a way for students and teachers to connect and foster meaningful discussions about what is important to each of them. Determining their word helps students focus on their hopes and dreams for the future.

Helping students achieve their dreams is what we strive for. The MyIntent Project states “We believe there is purpose inside each of us…” We want to push students to set goals and find their purpose, and ultimately find their individual path to success.
