"Hello! My name is Lydia Huninghake and I have been teaching in the USD 383 school district for ten years as a Special Education Teacher. I have had two years experience teaching virtually, but this year is my first year with MVA. I am thrilled to join such a well-respected staff and student population here at MVA.
I earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education through Kansas State University while graduating with my Master’s Degree in Adaptive Special Education through Emporia State University.
My experience working in the Special Education world has taught be how to build relationships with students and teachers so we can work together to achieve emotional and academic goals. Virtual teaching has been an exciting learning curve that has broadened my technology skills and I want to continue to learn how to be even more effective in the virtual setting.
I am a townie to Manhattan, Kansas. I have lived here my entire life and have loved being part of this unique and close community. I am married to a local farmer and we share three wonderful children together, Retley, Ellie and Perry. In our spare time, you can find us enjoying the outdoors, being on the farm, spending time with our families and attending K-State football games in the fall."
