MVA Music Teacher
Hello! My name is Bobbi Rubeck and I am the newest member of the MVA Family! I am so excited to be back in the classroom after taking a year off and this virtual experience is perfect for my currently very busy lifestyle.
After growing up in Hays, KS on a family farm, I pursued my dreams at Kansas State University in music education. After graduating with my BME in 2014, I accepted my first teaching job in Burlington, KS where I taught 5-12 band, choir, and general music. I loved the wide variety of ages and disciplines and found that the uniqueness of each class made my days fly. In 2015, I met my now-husband online. I left Burlington after 2 years of teaching to move to Wichita after we were married and began pursuing my Masters in Music Education at Wichita State University. I am in my 2nd year there and love all of the knowledge I have gained. It didn't take long for me to miss the classroom though, and am so blessed by the opportunity that MVA has presented to be back in the classroom teaching while finishing my degree. In a way, this means I can relate to the students and the benefits that the flexible learning environment provides!
In my free time, I enjoy all things music, as well as running and reading. I have completed 4 half marathons and will be doing my 5th in October. I also enjoy spending time with my husband and our two cats - Luna and Halley.
